- 1 tbsp flour
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup ricotta cheese
- 4 oz cooked pasta (al dente)
- 1/2 lb peeled and deveined shrimp
- 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley and red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk and chicken broth. Stir until thickened; season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg, Parmesan, and ricotta until smooth.
- In a large baking dish, layer sauce at the bottom, followed by cooked pasta, half the shrimp mixture, and some cheese mixture.
- Repeat layers: sauce, pasta, remaining shrimp, cheese—finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
