- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in molasses.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls; place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until set but soft. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Once completely cooled, roll each cookie in powdered sugar.
