Ingredients
- 2 slabs beef ribs
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 7 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 3 tablespoons mustard powder
- 3 teaspoons garlic powder
- 3 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon coarse kosher salt
- 3 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup apple juice
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Pat the beef ribs dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub olive oil over the ribs and coat generously with the dry rub.
- In another bowl, mix ketchup, apple juice, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper for the BBQ sauce.
- Place the ribs in a slow cooker bone side down and pour half of the BBQ sauce over them.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours until tender.
- Baste with remaining BBQ sauce during the last hour of cooking.
